As you have found this page you will probably have realised by now that F1 for me is about the technical innovation on show.  Yes I love the racing as much as the next fan but I love the intricacies of F1 design.  Although I'd love to be involved in F1 job wise my day job is a Manager of a Car & Van Rental company based on the Isle of Wight.  This does however provide me with some context regarding driving style as I can drive upwards of 20 different vehicles a day from small hatchbacks upto Luton Vans.  I also own my own track car but due to work commitments and finances I have failed to use it for the last few years and it remains in dry storage until I can.

Over the years I have noticed that many commentators/pundits use a certain level of assumption in regard to the knowledge the general F1 fan has.  My blog tries to help put some of the more technical aspects of the sport into an easy to understand context.

I already write for many F1 sites aswell as the blog here, however should you have a site you wish me to write an article for you give me a shout and I'll see if I can fit it in.

    i just discovered your website and i am amazed at the insight you have into the tech side of F1.
    this is by far the most insightfull websight on F1 i have come accross and i am a big F1 fan. you beat hands down " race car engineering" and others like it.
    thank you for putting in the time and effort so layamns like me can learn more about the sprot we enjoy. I am suprised your arlicatles have not been picked up by the so call "experts" in the journislt field.
    you are top of the list of my favorites from now on

      Thanks for the feedback, I always appreciate it (good or bad) but glad you've enjoyed what you have read. Don't worry I have attracted some attention with my coverage throughout 2012 and so I may work with some larger concerns in the future.

  5. Please Matt could we have some information relating to the hub arrangments, and fixings, on these cars. Since the lower wishbone front and rear are now mounted at the centre of the wheel along the axle line. How is the king pin line, and wheel spindle arranged and of what material. With the suspension arms so close in parallel how are the accelaration and braking loads managed.At the rear the drive shafts and joints are also of interest.With the drive shaft running in the lower wishbone, directly along the axle line. I hope that you can help. The detailed information which you provide has greatly enhanced my own knowledge and enjoyment of these very interesting cars. With thanks.
